About Us
Rooted in our community, open to everyone who needs us
ΠΡΟΣΦΥΓΙΚΟ ΣΩΜΑΤΕΙΟ "ΑΝΔΡΟΥΛΛΑ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΔΟΥΛΟΥ" ΤΑΥΡΟΥ — an officially registered non-profit association operating in Cyprus (MOI Registration: ΛΑΡΣ3636).
Built on deep principles of humanitarian assistance, solidarity, and cultural heritage, our association acts as a safe harbor for families facing hardship. We provide holistic support, educational integration, and social relief activities aimed at fostering dignity, self-reliance, and active community participation.
Our work grew out of the everyday realities of displacement in Cyprus: a family arriving with paperwork they cannot read, an older member of the community who has lost touch with the village they grew up in, a young person who wants to study but does not know where to begin. We answer those situations one person at a time, from our premises in Xylotymvou and wherever else members of our community need us.
Our Mission
To provide accessible humanitarian support, advocate for community rights, facilitate social integration, and preserve cultural identity for displaced and vulnerable populations across Cyprus.
Our Vision
An inclusive, empathetic, and resilient society where every individual and family—regardless of background—has access to support, legal guidance, and opportunities to thrive in peace and security.
The values we work by
- Dignity first
- Support is offered quietly and respectfully, never in a way that makes a family feel like a case number.
- Solidarity
- Neighbours helping neighbours — most of our volunteers have lived through displacement themselves.
- Cultural memory
- Language, music, food and family history are carried forward, not left behind.
- Accountability
- Clear records, honest reporting, and decisions taken openly by an elected committee.
Who we serve
Displaced families and refugees, low-income households, elderly residents living alone, young people seeking education or first employment, and anyone in our area who needs a hand navigating public services. Assistance is provided without discrimination on grounds of origin, religion, gender, or status.
